Trump’s Border Czar – $1M MONTHLY Security!?

Rolled U.S. dollar bills in various denominations.

As he faces unprecedented danger while tackling the inherited crisis at the border, Border Czar Tom Homan’s security detail has been revealed to cost a staggering $1 million per month.

The hefty price tag comes as Homan works to implement President Donald Trump’s tough border policies that protect the nation from illegal immigration.

While expensive, the security measures highlight the dangerous threats facing officials who defend America’s sovereignty.

Homan specifically serves as the White House Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations.

As the designated “border czar,” he receives protection that costs over $500,000 monthly just for agent salaries.

Multiple reports indicate that when airfare, hotel bills, and other travel expenses are added, the total security expenditure approaches $1 million each month.

This level of protection, provided by about 30 agents from the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations, offers Homan round-the-clock security.

The Department of Homeland Security defends these substantial costs, citing legitimate safety concerns following threat assessments.

“DHS ensures our leaders are safe and protected,” said department spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin. We will continue to take measures to ensure Mr. Homan and his family are safe.”

Homan’s security detail includes monitoring at his home, during his commute to the White House and ICE headquarters, and sometimes involves a four-vehicle motorcade.

The protective measures were implemented after Homan reportedly received death threats following his appointment to lead President Trump’s aggressive border enforcement initiatives.

Despite the justifications, some liberals have condemned the expense. These critics question whether such extensive security is necessary for an official who does not hold a Cabinet-level position.

The Secret Service even rejected a request for protection for Homan during the 2024 election season.

Some have described Homan’s security as “extravagant” and claim it diverts resources from other senior leadership.

For comparison, former national security advisers and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos had protection costs ranging from $5 million to $12 million per year.

Defenders of the security expense point to the increasingly hostile political climate facing officials who enforce America’s immigration laws.

Homan has become a prominent target for the radical left due to his role in implementing policies that protect American citizens from the dangers of unchecked illegal immigration.

The threats against him have intensified as he works on what has been described as “the largest separation operation in U.S. history.”

While $1 million monthly may seem excessive, allowing radical leftists to intimidate officials into abandoning strict border enforcement could ultimately prove far more costly to the nation’s sovereignty and safety.
