Abortion Rates Increasing – What’s Going On?

Hand shifting blocks spelling pro life to pro choice

At a time when abortion rates are skyrocketing across the nation, a bombshell report has revealed a stunning new method liberals are employing.

Specifically, left-wing states are purposefully undermining pro-life laws through telehealth abortion pills.

It has been revealed that about 1.1 million abortions occurred in 2024, with telehealth abortion pills making up one-quarter of all procedures.

Telehealth abortion allows women to terminate pregnancies despite state bans and restrictions designed to protect unborn life.

The WeCount project of the Society of Family Planning released a report showing alarming increases in abortion rates across America.

The bombshell new figures coincide with the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

According to their data, monthly abortions jumped from 80,000 in late 2022 to 88,000 in 2023 and continued rising through 2024.

The abortion industry has quickly adapted to state-level pro-life protections by exploiting telehealth loopholes.

Although 12 states have implemented total abortion bans and four others have restricted abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, abortion providers have found ways to bypass these life-saving measures through virtual prescriptions.

These digital prescriptions allow abortion pills to cross state lines, effectively nullifying the will of voters in conservative states.

Democrat-controlled states have actively undermined pro-life efforts by enacting laws specifically designed to protect telehealth prescriptions for abortion pills.

The report indicates that about half of all telehealth abortions in 2024 were facilitated by these protective laws.

This creates a system where liberal states effectively export abortions to states with restrictions.

Pro-life advocates are fighting back against this digital loophole. Legal actions are ongoing in conservative states like Louisiana and Texas to restrict access to abortion pills.

Louisiana lawmakers have already sent a bill to the governor to further restrict access to these pills.

Meanwhile, Texas is pursuing civil penalties against a New York doctor who prescribed abortion pills to women in the Lone Star State.

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser announced that she would lead calls for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to investigate abortion pills.

SBA Pro-Life America is also demanding that abortion pills be dispensed only in person, citing serious safety concerns.

Despite abortion numbers rising to 1.1 million annually, advocates note this remains below the peak of nearly 1.6 million abortions annually in the late 1990s.

As anti-abortion efforts increasingly target telehealth prescriptions of mifepristone, the coming months will be crucial in determining whether states can effectively enforce their own laws.
