Walmart Issues Major Recall – Check Now!

Recall notice over grocery store shelves.

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Leaving countless families at risk, giant Walmart issued another major recall of Great Value chicken broth as over 12,000 cartons of potentially contaminated broth were distributed across nine states.

On January 8, the Food Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Walmart had initiated a recall of its Great Value brand chicken broth due to compromised packaging.

The recall affects 48-ounce family-sized cartons sold in over 200 stores across Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

The affected products have a best-by date of March 25, 2026, Batch Lot code 98F09234, and UPC 007874206684.

This latest food safety blunder involves a staggering 2,023 cases, totaling 12,138 cartons of potentially dangerous chicken broth.

The recall was initiated on December 11, but the FDA took nearly a month to make the public announcement, which late notifying consumers was unacceptable and irresponsible.

The packaging failures that prompted this recall could lead to product spoilage and potential health risks for unsuspecting consumers.

While Walmart claims no illnesses have been reported, the true extent of the problem remains unknown.

The company said in a statement, “The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority.”

“As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we took action to remove all impacted products from … select, impacted stores. We are continuing to work with the supplier to investigate,” it added.

Walmart’s response, while seemingly proactive, raises more questions than it answers. If customer safety is truly their top priority, it is suspicious why it took so long to identify and address this issue.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another Walmart recall involving mislabeled empanadas, suggesting a pattern of negligence in their quality control processes.

Customers who have purchased the recalled chicken broth are advised to discard it immediately and request a full refund.

As hardworking Americans struggle to put food on the table amidst rising inflation, they should not have to worry about the safety of the products they are buying from trusted retailers.

In the meantime, consumers were advised to check their pantries for the affected items and demand better from the companies they trust with their families’ health and safety.
