(TheProudRepublic.com) – Justice finally arrived for the families of 13 American heroes killed in the catastrophic Abbey Gate bombing as President Donald Trump announced that the top terrorist behind the deadly attack had been captured.
See the video below.
This long-awaited arrest exposes the stark contrast between Trump’s counterterrorism approach and the Biden administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
Mohammad Sharifullah, a top commander of ISIS-K, has been apprehended and extradited to the United States through a joint operation between the CIA and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.
The terrorist is accused of orchestrating the 2021 bombing at Kabul airport that killed 13 U.S. service members and approximately 170 Afghan civilians during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Trump announced Sharifullah’s capture with characteristic firmness:
“Tonight, I am pleased to announce that we have just apprehended the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity, and he is on his way here to face the swift sword of American justice.”
The operation represents a significant intelligence victory and highlights Trump’s continued commitment to hunting down America’s enemies.
It also serves as a reminder of the Biden-Harris administration’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan that created the conditions for the bombing to occur in the first place.
Trump specifically thanked Pakistan for its role in capturing the terrorist, stating, “I want to thank especially the government of Pakistan for helping arrest this monster.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the terrorist was captured near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism efforts.
Sharifullah, also known as Jafar, has reportedly confessed to his role in the Abbey Gate attack and other terrorist actions in Moscow and Iran.
He had previously been arrested in 2019 but escaped during the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in 2021.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi remarked, “We hope this brings some closure to the families of the 13 American Heroes lost at Abbey Gate. We will continue to bring those who harm Americans to swift and decisive justice.”
FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized the arrest as a step toward justice for the American victims, calling it “one step closer to justice for these American heroes and their families.”
Interestingly, there is some confusion regarding Sharifullah’s identity. A senior Taliban official claimed they have “two Tajik nationals named Sharifullah in… custody” who were involved in the bombing.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon had previously identified the bomber as Abdul Rahman al-Logari.
After the devastating bombing in 2021, former President Joe Biden vowed: “We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay.”
Yet it took nearly three years and a change in administration leadership for action to bring the mastermind to justice.
Ultimately, for the families of the 13 servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice, this arrest represents a step toward closure.
