Police revealed that a man in Texas has been arrested after trying to break in at a Dallas apartment. The man inside the apartment, Ethan Rodriguez, had stated that on Saturday at 6 p.m. he had seen someone he could not recognize on his door. The person at the door had pretended to be a maintenance worker.
Rodriguez then used his digital doorbell and home security system to answer the suspect, Aaron Contreras, the man who was pretending to be a maintenance worker who had come to inspect the air conditioner filter.
However, Rodriguez told Contreras that he was not in his home. That was when Contreras, who had a handgun, returned to the door with a masked man minutes later. The video footage from the doorbell camera shows the two men collectively trying to break down the war by kicking it.
Rodriguez proceeded to take his own gun and fired a few shots through his front door. Contreras fired back in response. The Dallas Police officers had found 13 bullet casings as a result of the shooting. Two of the bullets had also managed to enter through the door.
On Saturday, Contreras was arrested and charged with warrants for aggravated assault, attempted burglary of a habitation, and deadly conduct. Jail records have now shown that Contreras is currently being held in the Dallas County jail and his bond has been set at $150,000.
