Jessica Beauvais, a 32-year-old BLM advocate, made a controversial statement against the police during a live podcast after consuming alcohol. Following the broadcast, she drove her Volkswagen Passat.

Late at night, around 2 am on the Long Island Expressway, Beauvais approached a section being overseen by NYPD Officer Anastasios Tsakos. The site was marked with several traffic cones and a patrol car with its emergency lights on.

Despite the clear markings, Beauvais bypassed the stationary vehicles, hitting and fatally injuring Officer Tsakos. The impact resulted in significant damage to her car’s front.

As another officer tried to get her to stop, she continued driving, prompting a police chase. After leaving the highway, Beauvais was even witnessed driving on a pedestrian walkway.

When police managed to surround her car, she reversed into one of the police vehicles multiple times, trying to flee. However, she was apprehended and taken to the 112th Precinct where tests revealed an alcohol content of .15 percent in her system.

If found guilty, Beauvais could serve up to 15 years behind bars.

Sadly, Officer Anastasios Tsakos, who served the NYPD for 14 years, is survived by his wife and two children, aged 3 and 6.
