(TheProudRepublic.com) – While socialist countries top the 2025 World Happiness Report list, the U.S. falls to a new low as America’s happiness is plummeting.
The United States dropped to its lowest ranking ever, now sitting at 24th place behind countries with radically different values and systems than America.
According to the latest World Happiness Report, Finland has claimed the top spot for the eighth consecutive year with a score of 7.7, while America has fallen to 24th place with a score of 6.7.
This is the worst ranking for the United States in the report’s 13-year history, raising serious questions about its recent direction.
The report, which ranks 147 countries based on factors such as social support, income, health, freedom, and perceptions of corruption, reveals some troubling trends in American society.
Most notably, the researchers identified a significant increase in what they call “deaths of despair” – deaths related to suicide or substance abuse – at a time when such deaths are declining in most other countries.
One of the most alarming findings shows the breakdown of traditional American family meals.
“The number of people dining alone in the United States has increased by 53% over the past two decades,” the researchers noted, explaining that social dining “is strongly linked with well-being.”
The report points out that a quarter of Americans now eat all meals alone, a stark indicator of the social isolation plaguing the country.
While Mexico and Costa Rica rank high due to their strong family structures and larger household sizes, America continues to see the traditional family unit under attack.
Perhaps most telling is the report’s finding that political polarization is contributing to lower happiness rankings in the United States.
Authors remarked, “The country-wide evolution of happiness and trust is highly associated with the rise in the likelihood of voting for anti-system parties in Western Europe and the United States.”
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the data for this report was collected from 2022 to 2024 before President Donald Trump returned to the White House.
Many patriotic Americans are now hoping that a return to policies promoting traditional values, strong families, and economic prosperity for working Americans will help reverse these troubling trends.
At the bottom of the list sits Afghanistan with a dismal score of 1.364, a tragic reminder of what happens when extremist ideologies take hold and American leadership abandons its commitments.
“Happiness isn’t just about wealth or growth—it’s about trust, connection and knowing people have your back,” Gallup CEO Jon Clifton said.
Still, many conservatives would argue those connections have been systematically undermined by progressive policies attacking traditional family structures and community institutions.
As America faces this happiness crisis, the path forward seems clear: a return to the traditional values and family structures that once made the nation great and strengthening communities rather than government dependence.
