(TheProudRepublic.com) – In a sweeping move to hold accountable those who misled the American public, DNI Director Tulsi Gabbard has cut off the security clearances of 51 former intelligence officials who falsely claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.
See the tweet below.
This decisive action follows President Trump’s directive to clean house and restore integrity to the intelligence community that worked to undermine his first administration and influence the 2020 election outcome.
Gabbard announced her decision on social media, confirming that dozens of former officials who signed the now-infamous 2020 letter dismissing Hunter’s laptop as Russian propaganda have lost their access to classified information.
The list includes high-profile figures like former DNI James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan.
Gabbard tweeted:
“Per President Trump’s directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden ‘disinformation’ letter. The President’s Daily Brief is no longer being provided to former President Biden.”
The revocation represents a major shift in how the intelligence community will be held accountable from now on.
In October 2020, 51 officials signed a letter suggesting the Hunter laptop story had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation” despite the lack of evidence to support this claim.
Multiple news organizations, including the very same mainstream media outlets that initially refused to cover the story, have since authenticated the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Emails found on the laptop revealed concerning connections between the Biden family and foreign business interests, including an introduction between then-Vice President Joe Biden and a Burisma executive.
Former President Biden also lost his security clearance and will no longer receive the President’s Daily Brief, a courtesy typically extended to former presidents.
Trump cited a precedent Biden set, denying him access to intelligence briefings after leaving office in 2021.
“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump wrote.
The security clearance revocations also extend to prominent Trump antagonists who used their positions to target him politically.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who prosecuted Trump on 34 felony counts related to business records, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who sued Trump in a civil case, both lost their clearances.
Other officials affected include Antony Blinken and Jake Sullivan from the Biden administration.
Additionally, security clearances were revoked for lawyers at Covington & Burling and Perkins Coie who were involved in legal actions against Trump.
Critics have labeled these actions as political retaliation. Still, supporters view them as necessary accountability for those who abused their positions and intelligence credentials to interfere in elections and undermine President Trump’s first term.
The intelligence officials’ false claims about the Hunter laptop likely influenced the 2020 election outcome, as polling has shown many voters would have changed their vote had they known the truth.
The President’s decision to revoke these clearances fulfills a campaign promise to drain the swamp and hold accountable those in the deep state who have worked against the American people’s interests.
Per @POTUS directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden…
