(TheProudRepublic.com) – In a vastly important finding for the future of the United States, a majority of voters have been found to be in favor of mass deportations of illegal immigrants, a policy that former President Donald Trump has pledged to carry out.
A recent Scripps News/Ipsos poll has discovered that 54% of voters, including a vast majority of Republicans (86%), a significant portion of independents (58%), and a quarter of Democrats (25%), support the policy.
Immigration remains a significant concern for 39% of voters, ranking just below inflation, which is the primary issue for 57% of voters as the November elections approach, The Daily Caller.
The poll also indicates that Trump has a ten-point lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in handling immigration issues.
During her tenure, in which she was referred to as the Border Czar in the Biden-Harris administration, there have been more than 10 million migrant encounters nationwide, according to US Customs and Border Patrol data.
Specifically, over 8 million of these encounters occurred along the Southern Border under the Biden-Harris administration.
Trump has consistently pushed for the mass deportation of illegal migrants, especially following the death of Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal immigrant.
Trump pledged to initiate the “largest deportation operation” in U.S. history against those residing in the country illegally.
“Crooked Joe Biden’s Border INVASION is destroying our country and killing our citizens!” Trump exclaimed in a post on Truth Social in February.
“The horrible murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley at the University of Georgia should have NEVER happened! The monster who took her life illegally entered our Country in 2022…and then was released AGAIN by Radical Democrats in New York after injuring a CHILD!! … When I am your President, we will immediately Seal the Border, Stop the Invasion, and on Day One, we will begin the largest deportation operation of illegal CRIMINALS in American History!” Trump continued.
Additionally, about half of Americans express concern over illegal immigrants voting in the 2024 elections, with 83% of Republicans, 46% of independents, and 24% of Democrats sharing this concern.
The House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act in July, requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration.
Another bill preventing noncitizens from voting in Washington, DC, elections was also passed in May, though it faced opposition from 140 Democrats. Both bills are pending Senate approval.
The Scripps News/Ipsos poll surveyed 1,027 adults from September 13 to September 15, with a margin of error of 3.6 points.
