He didn’t hold back one bit.
Not one to shy away from expressing his views in real-time, former President Donald Trump took to his social network, Truth Social, late on Thursday evening. His subject: the House committee’s public hearing.
In one post, Trump stated, “So the Unselect Committee of political HACKS refuses to play any of the many positive witnesses and statements, refuses to talk of the Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place on a massive scale. Our Country is in such trouble!”
Trump’s comments weren’t only limited to after the hearing began; earlier in the day, Trump released a statement through his Save America PAC, in which he described the deadly 2021 Capitol riot as the “greatest movement” in U.S. history.
In a separate post to Truth Social, Trump dismissed the testimony of his daughter, Ivanka Trump, saying she only agreed with Barr’s statements that the former President’s claims the election was stolen were unfounded because Ivanka had “checked out.”
Leading part of the Thursday hearing, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), played snippets of Barr’s prerecorded deposition. During the deposition, Barr states: “I told him [then-President Donald Trump] that it was crazy stuff and they were wasting their time on that and that it was doing great, a great disservice to the country.”
