(TheProudRepublic.com) – Accusing her immigration policy of causing the deaths of thousands of Americans, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump claimed Kamala Harris should be in jail as he has called for her impeachment and prosecution.
In a scathing Truth Social post, Trump again slammed Harris, as he said that Harris’ policies have allowed 13,099 murderers to enter the U.S. and roam unrestrained. He referred to this situation as “The Crime of the Century.”
Trump stated, “Kamala’s Illegal Migrants. It’s the biggest crime story of our time. She should resign or be IMPEACHED!”
Moreover, the former president said that “hundreds of people have been murdered because of her actions at the border.”
The stakes are incredibly high as Republican leaders have voiced varying perspectives.
Some allies, including Representative Majority Whip Tom Emmer, advised the former president to focus on policy issues, reflecting the growing concern over the rhetoric of personal attacks.
In addition, Trump’s remarks came right after Harris’ visit to the U.S. southern border in Arizona.
She attempted to present herself as tough on the border, pointing fingers back at him for not supporting a bipartisan border bill during his presidency.
In Erie, Pennsylvania, the GOP leader asserted, “hundreds of people have been murdered because of her action at the border, and thousands more will follow in rapid succession. She should be impeached and prosecuted for her actions.”
Harris countered Trump’s accusations, highlighting his role in blocking key immigration reforms.
However, Trump has stepped up personal attacks, labeling Harris as “weak,” “dumb as a rock,” and “mentally impaired.”
His rhetoric has become more extreme, with accusations about Harris’ mental fitness and integrity, ramping up as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up.
“Crooked Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Sad. But lying Kamala Harris, honestly, I believe she was born that way,” Trump said at another rally, slamming Harris’s leadership and questioning her competence.
Amid the Republican nominee’s calls for Harris to be prosecuted, several Republicans have chimed in, urging a return to issue-driven debate rather than character attacks.
Allies are particularly concerned about the electoral fallout of intensified personal attacks.
As the 2024 presidential campaign begins to escalate, Americans must decide if they agree with Trump’s assessment of who can more effectively control the southern border.
With the former president leading Harris by 10 points on handling immigration, the poll numbers reflect the weight this issue holds going into the next election cycle.
