Trump Strips Bolton of Protection – Details

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Saving taxpayers millions and sending a clear message to those who oppose America First policies, President Donald Trump swiftly stripped former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s Secret Service protection.

The decision raises questions about the necessity of lifelong security for former officials and showcases Trump’s commitment to draining the swamp.

This decision, made within the first 24 hours of Trump’s administration, not only saves American taxpayers millions of dollars but also signals a significant shift in how the government handles security for former officials.

The protection, which was costing taxpayers a staggering $12,280,324 per year, was initially granted by the Biden administration in December 2021.

This exorbitant expense was supposedly justified due to threats from Iran, linked to the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani – an operation ordered by President Trump himself to protect American interests.

President Trump’s decision to revoke Bolton’s security detail comes as no surprise to those familiar with their contentious relationship.

Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor from 2018 to 2019, was ousted from his position and later criticized the President, even questioning Trump’s competency in a 2020 interview.

When reporters asked why he stripped Bolton of his security clearance, Trump said, “Because I think that was enough time.”

“We’re not going to have security on people for the rest of their lives,” he added. “Why should we?”

Trump’s justification for removing Bolton’s security detail is both logical and fiscally responsible.

The President questioned the need for lifelong protection, suggesting that the time-limited nature of Bolton’s service should correspond with a time-limited security detail.

In addition, the decision to end Bolton’s protection is part of a larger strategy by the Trump administration to establish clear boundaries between current and former government officials.

This includes revoking security clearances for 50 former senior national security officials who signed a letter in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s laptop emails.

While Bolton expressed disappointment at the decision, his reaction only serves to highlight the entitlement mentality that has plagued Washington for far too long.

Americans can indeed judge for themselves which President made the right call—one who frivolously spent taxpayer money on unnecessary protection or one who prioritized fiscal responsibility and put America First.
