Trump Opens Up About Melania (Video)

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Former President Donald Trump opened up about his wife, Melania, as he said that his criminal hush money trial in New York City and subsequent conviction have been “very hard” on her, given the testimony recounting his alleged infidelity.

Recently, Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents, which marked the first time a former president has been convicted of a crime. He has since appealed the ruling.

The charges were connected to hush money payments made just before the 2016 election to cover up alleged past affairs with adult film star Stormy Daniels, which Trump denied.

One affair allegedly happened in 2006, a year after Trump married Melania and months after their son, Barron, was born.

“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her,” Trump said of the former first lady during a “Fox and Friends” interview, adding that “in many ways, it’s tougher on them [his family] than it is me.”

He openly expressed, “I have a wonderful wife who has to listen to this stuff all the time. They do that for this reason.”

Trump continued, “[T]hey do that, all these salacious names that they put in of these people, and I’m not even allowed to defend myself because of the gag order. Think of it,” Trump said, without clarifying who “they” refers to.

“But they put this stuff in to create havoc. These are bad people,” he added. “I know everything they’re doing. I know every move they make; I get it.”

Trump later mentioned that he is “okay” with the possibility of going to prison.

While he could face up to four years behind bars, it is considered unlikely. His sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
