On Tuesday (April 4), Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (S.C.) asked Fox News viewers to donate to former President Donald Trump following Trump being indicted on criminal charges in Manhattan.
During an appearance on The Sean Hannity Show, Graham asserted there was “one last chance” to fix the criminal charges brought against Trump, adding that 2024 would be the “most important election” in his lifetime.
Graham suggested the U.S. was on the line, calling for viewers to help President Trump.
The South Carolina Republican asked for those who could afford it to donate 5 or 10 dollars, adding that if viewers couldn’t afford a dollar, they could “Just pray.”
Graham also dissented from the GOP’s stance on early voting, pleading with viewers to “vote as early as [they] can in [their] state.”
He pleaded with GOP voters not to “risk anything anymore,” reiterating a call that they vote as “soon as possible” and resort to prayer for the country and President, adding if they had the money to donate it to Trump’s campaign.
Following news that the Manhattan Grand Jury voted to indict Trump on Thursday (March 31), Graham suggested that Trump’s political adversaries were attempting to drain his campaign funds with politically-motivated charges.
Graham claimed Trump had spent more money on lawyers than what is common to spend on campaigns.
However, Trump’s campaign efforts have faired extraordinarily well since his indictment. In the 24 hours after the indictment, Trump was able to raise $4 million.
On Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts relating to a $130,000 payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
