You won’t believe what Trump said!

Talking to Fox News on Friday (June 24), former President Donald Trump conveyed that he believed the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade would “work out for everybody.”

According to the Fox News’ reporting, Trump said, “This is following the Constitution, and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago.”

The Supreme Court’s landmark ruling returns the decision on abortion legislation to the states, revoking any federal protections abortions had.

Trump was also questioned about what he would say to his pro-choice supporters, to which he responded, “I think, in the end, this is something that will work out for everybody,” showcasing his support for the move by stating, “This brings everything back to the states where it has always belonged.”

The former President, who appointed three conservative Justices during his time in office, was also questioned regarding whether he believed he played a role in reversing Roe v. Wade, to which Trump replied, “God made the decision.”

The court became majority conservative after Trump-appointed Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch to the High Court, bringing the total to six conservatives and three liberals, with all six conservatives voting on ideological lines.

To prevent Roe v. Wade from being overturned solely on ideological lines, Democrats flirted with the idea of court-packing after the draft opinion was released.

Since the Court’s ruling, many states’ trigger bans and stricter restrictions on abortions will begin coming into effect as Democrats vow to appoint pro-choice lawmakers in the upcoming midterm elections.
