Sen. Ted Cruz in a recent interview on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance” argued that it was necessary for the House to start an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, following the allegations about a bribery scheme that were detailed in the FBI’s FD-1023 document.
Cruz argued that Biden needed to not only be prosecuted over his involvement in the bribery scheme with Hunter Biden and an official of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company but that he should also go to jail.
He added that apart from Biden he has also called for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland. He pointed out that in regards to Biden, the most important thing will be to see what the evidence shows.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, last week also released the form that includes the details about a confidential human source informing the FBI about the $10 million payment arranged between the Biden family and Mykola Zlochevsky, the Burisma CEO. The payment was originally meant to be split between Joe and Hunter Biden and was provided in exchange for influence over policy decisions.
One of the aspects of this bribery scheme was arranging for former Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin who was set to be investigating Burisma to be removed. Cruz argued that by reading the FD-1023 FBI report one gets clear details about the deal. He added that if the allegations are true then the sitting president of the United States would have been involved in a multibillion dollar exchange with a foreign national. If he is found to be guilty of bribery, then Cruz argues that Biden should be both impeached and removed from office.
