Sometimes a Rope Is Just a Rope – Not ‘Racist’

(TheProudRepublic.com) – In an incident that leftists rushed to judge as racist, a noose found at a Maryland high school has been found to be just a rope – and not “racist” or “anti-black.”

Earlier this week, a staff member at Sherwood High School discovered a small rope, tied to resemble a noose and hanging over the fence around the tennis courts.

The incident, reported in an email from the principal, republished by MocoShow, prompted an immediate response from the school, The College Fix informs.

The school administration reviewed security footage, quickly identifying and interviewing three individuals involved in the incident.

The principal of the Ashton-Sandy Spring high school, Timothy Britton, communicated to the community that they were determining the appropriate consequences in line with the Montgomery County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct.

Despite there being no explicitly racist or anti-black intent behind the placement of the rope, the principal issued an apology, recognizing the disturbing nature of such imagery.

In his words, “While our investigation determined that the individuals involved did not intend to communicate a racist or anti-Black message, the impact of such imagery is deeply harmful and cannot be understated. We recognize how disturbing and upsetting this symbol can be, particularly to our Black community members, and we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness.”

Britton further emphasized the school’s commitment to maintaining a welcoming and secure environment for all students.

“At Sherwood High School, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for every student. This incident underscores the importance of ongoing education and dialogue around issues of race, respect, and cultural sensitivity. We will continue to address this in partnership with our students, staff, and families to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.”

This incident is not isolated. At the beginning of the school year, another rope, initially perceived as a noose, was found in a Missouri school bathroom.

This was reported by a black parent, who expressed his shock and dismay to the media, stating, “Wow, are we still doing this, did this really just happen,” and highlighting the ongoing struggles faced by black and brown students.

The school district ultimately determined the incident was not racially motivated, attributing it to a “kid in crisis.”

However, this did not stop the local NAACP from attributing the incident to the conservative policies of the Francis Howell School District, which included restricting access to certain books and enforcing gender-specific bathrooms.
