(TheProudRepublic.com) – A shocking murder at Fort Eisenhower has exposed a glaring security breach within the US military as a National Guard soldier stands accused of fatally shooting a man at his ex-girlfriend’s home on the base.
See the tweet below.
The incident occurred over the weekend and led to a two-hour lockdown of the Georgia military installation.
25-year-old Natravien Landry, who was on duty at the time, allegedly took a break to visit his former girlfriend’s residence, where he confronted and killed another man.
After the shooting, Landry fled the scene, traveling approximately 180 miles before being apprehended in Meriwether County.
In a desperate attempt to cover his tracks, he allegedly discarded a 9mm handgun from his car window.
The victim’s identity remains undisclosed, with court documents only revealing initials. This lack of transparency raises concerns about potential cover-ups within the military justice system.
Fort Eisenhower commanders were quick to label this incident as isolated. Still, this tragedy calls for a thorough investigation into the background checks and psychological evaluations conducted on service members.
While Landry was assigned to an Army transportation unit, he admitted to the shooting during questioning by an Army investigator.
The soldier’s attorney, David Stewart, has remained silent, declining to comment on the charges.
This silence only fuels speculation about potential plea deals or attempts to shift blame onto the military system itself.
