Shocking News in Pennsylvania Race

Red Republican glove and blue Democrat glove facing off.

(TheProudRepublic.com) – As the Pennsylvania Senate race heats up, conservatives will be shocked to learn that Democrat Senator Bob Casey enjoys a nine-point lead over Republican David McCormick, according to a new poll.

However, with 10 percent of voters undecided, anything could happen leading up to the election.

Yet, the stakes are high for both sides in this crucial contest for Senate control.

According to a recent poll by The Inquirer, The New York Times, and Siena College, Casey holds 48 percent of likely voter support to McCormick’s 39 percent.

As the longest-serving Democrat in Pennsylvania’s Senate history, Casey’s current lead reflects his entrenched status.

However, the narrowing gap and undecided voters mean the race could tighten before Election Day, The Philadelphia Inquirer writes in a report.

Breaking down the poll, Casey leads on several key issues.

He has a six-point lead on the economy, eight points on the opioid crisis, and a significant 19-point lead on abortion—issues that could resonate with Pennsylvania’s electorate.

McCormick leads on immigration by a narrow 42% to 41%, showing where he may focus his campaign efforts.

“The Cook Political Report labels the Pennsylvania Senate race as ‘Leans Democratic,’ alongside two other battleground states, Arizona and Nevada, with Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio’s Senate seats classified as ‘Toss Up,’” Newsweek comments in a report.

McCormick, a veteran and former CEO of Bridgewater Associates, has Trump’s endorsement.

His outsider status could appeal to Pennsylvania’s conservative voters wary of career politicians.

Yet, political ads criticizing his previous Connecticut residency may pose a hurdle to his authenticity as a Pennsylvania candidate.

The Pennsylvania race is vital for a Senate tightly contested between Democrats and Republicans.

With Democrats holding just 51 seats, including four independents who caucus with them, every seat counts.

This makes Pennsylvania a key battleground in preserving or flipping Senate control.

“If he’s going to talk about his record versus my record, his record is as a hedge fund CEO investing in China and our adversaries,” Casey said at the studio of WPVI-TV in Philadelphia.

“That’s his record. Mine is bipartisan work in the Senate,” he added.

Casey and McCormick have already clashed in debates over clean energy, gun laws and abortion rights.

Casey backs Biden’s infrastructure for job creation, while McCormick warns of dependency on Chinese technology.

On gun rights, McCormick opposes stricter regulations and cites illegal gun trade as the main issue.
