Former President Donald Trump was photographed at New Jersey Airport on Sunday (September 11) evening. A flight path was filed for Dulles International Airport in Virginia; the airport is frequently used by those on their way to Washington, D.C.
In Dulles, Trump was photographed getting into a blacked-out SUV.
Yet, the former President hadn’t published any plans, nor did he have any — publicized — appearances at remembrance events for September 11, like many other leaders, had.
But, he did manage to post two memes on Truth Social, with the only other activity on his social media being several posts from last week.
Since Trump didn’t reveal the purpose of his trip to the nation’s capital, many began speculation about the former President’s need to be in D.C.
Several publications have listed several possible reasons for the former President’s trip. Some say he may be visiting the nation’s capital to meet deep pocket donors in person or to meet Republican leaders to convey the official talking points surrounding the seizure of the classified material from Mar-a-Lago, also in-person.
But the latter option has been doused as the group would likely have publicized the meeting.
Other publications wondered if Trump wasn’t turning himself in or if he had been handcuffed upon landing.
The theory was spurred by Trump-era former Attorney General Bill Barr’s comments where he claimed Trump was getting dangerously close to being indicted.
On a less serious note, many joked on social media that the former President had more documents to move.
