The Never Back Down PAC TV ad, which airs in several GOP primary states, replaces former President Donald Trump as Republican leader with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, despite the governor not yet announcing a run.
According to ABC News, the minute-long ad, titled “Victory” and promoting DeSantis, was broadcasted in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.
The ad is slated to run on cable and nationally.
Erin Perrine, the communication Director for Never Back Down, described DeSantis as a “proven winner” who has “never lost an election or a fight,” insisting that “if Republicans want to win the White House in 2024,” DeSantis would be the party’s best chance.
Speaking to ABC News, Perrine stated that “The future is now,” declaring that the future is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The report by ABC News revealed the Never Back Down PAC had raised $30 million since March.
In the ad, DeSantis’s accomplishments and victories in the Sunshine State are displayed, with his 20-point victory in November, being highlighted.
The ad made its intentions clear when it ended with a Trump supporter placing a bumper sticker that Declares “DeSantis for President 2024” over a “Trump for President 2016” sticker.
The ad comes Amid Speculation that DeSantis will officially announce his bid for the White House sometime in mid-May.
However, despite the speculation, Trump still has a 27-point average lead over DeSantis, achieving 51.1 percent support to DeSantis’s 23.8 percent support in a hypothetical GOP primary race conducted by
ABC News-owned political website FiveThirtyEight.
