Speaking on Fox News on Thursday (December 22), Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (S.C.) called out President Joe Biden, telling him to get his “ass” out of the White House and to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Graham described Biden not going to the border as “unconscionable,” condemning the President for not listening to the stories of border agents or ascertaining what life is like at the border.

Graham asserted that a lack of Biden’s presence at the southern border shows the President is “disconnected and he does not give a damn.”

The South Carolina Republican then declared Biden should “get his ass out of the White House” and visit the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Graham’s comments come as Title 42 hangs in the balance. For months, Republicans have criticized Biden for his non-existent presence at the border but have ramped up that criticism amid the threat that Title 42 would end.

Title 42 — a Trump-era pandemic measure — allowed border officials to expel asylum seekers on the grounds their entry could cause a COVID-19 outbreak.

About a million migrants have been turned back because of this policy and with it set to end, border states will have to contend with an unprecedented number of border encounters — some estimates placing it as high as 18,000 migrants crossing a day.

Republicans now hope Biden will initiate a policy similar to Title 42 after an amendment to the $1.7 trillion spending package that would maintain the policy failed to gain traction.

The Supreme Court also handed the policy a lifeline, halting its December 21 expiration date after 19 GOP-led states initiated court action.

Graham then suggested Thursday that Biden could reinstate Title 42 with an executive order.
