(TheProudRepublic.com) – After revealing several months ago that she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, Princess Kate Middleton has shared big news as she happily announced she is now “cancer-free.”
“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the Princess of Wales shared in a statement on X.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she continued.
While the 42-year-old royal had kept a low profile for most of the year, she expressed her excitement about returning to work and resuming public engagements in the months ahead.
Kate also took the opportunity to thank those who supported her during her battle with the disease.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,” she commented.
She added, “Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
As part of her health update, Kensington Palace released rare footage of Kate with her husband, William, and their three children—11-year-old Prince George, 9-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 6-year-old Prince Louis.
The three-minute video showed Kate and William holding hands, kissing, and embracing. It also captured the family playing and laughing together.
Moreover, although Kate previously mentioned having good days and bad days during her treatment, her last public appearance was at the men’s final at Wimbledon in July with Princess Charlotte.
She was also seen late last month at a morning service at Crathie Kirk church in the Scottish village of Crathie, near the Balmoral Estate.
Additionally, this health update comes as her father-in-law, King Charles III, continues his own cancer treatment.
