Nikki Takes a Shot at JD?! (Video)

(TheProudRepublic.com) – In a surprise move that is hardly helpful for the GOP, former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has taken a shot at her party’s vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, by declaring that his comments on women “are not helpful.”

In a discussion on “Face the Nation,” hosted by CBS’s Margaret Brennan, Vance’s recent comments were brought to the forefront.

Brennan remarked, “Just as recently as last week, JD Vance said he’s disoriented and disturbed that the head of the most powerful teachers’ union in the country doesn’t have a single child.”

She further questioned Haley, asking, “He continues to say things that certainly are highlighted as being offensive to women. That is going to hurt, won’t it, with female voters?”

“It’s not helpful,” Haley responded succinctly.

Vance, the GOP vice presidential nominee, has faced extensive backlash for his previous remarks about women, The Hill notes in its report.

In a 2021 conversation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Vance articulated a view that has sparked considerable controversy.

He stated that the nation seemed to be managed by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”

Expanding on this theme, Vance pointed out high-profile Democrats as examples, saying, “It’s just a basic fact — you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC — the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.”

He questioned the logic behind this leadership model, asking, “And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

During her CBS interview, Haley underscored her preference for focusing on policy rather than personal attributes.

“I decide, as a voter, to look at substance,” she stated.

Highlighting key policy areas, Haley elaborated, “The substance is cutting taxes, making housing more affordable, immigration, national security, that’s the substance.”

She contrasted these substantive issues with stylistic concerns.

“The style is — no, it is not helpful to talk about whether women have children or whether they don’t,” Haley added.
