(TheProudRepublic.com) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama announced her new podcast venture with her brother, which will promote “honest” conversations about relationships, parenting, and faith.
The former First Lady’s media empire continues to expand through the Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground, raising questions about their ongoing influence over American culture.
The podcast, “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson,” will debut with two episodes on March 12.
The show represents yet another platform for the Obama family to extend their messaging beyond their time in the White House.
It adds to an already extensive media portfolio that includes multiple Netflix productions and previous podcast deals worth millions.
The podcast will feature celebrity guests like Issa Rae, Tyler Perry, and liberal-leaning personalities discussing topics including adult friendships, marriage, career balance, and parenting.
Higher Ground, the media company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama following their White House tenure, has consistently produced content that critics argue promotes progressive ideologies.
The new podcast further extends its reach across multiple platforms, including YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, ensuring maximum distribution of their messaging.
“With everything going on in the world, we’re all looking for answers and people to turn to,” Obama said.
She continued, “My brother Craig and I launched the IMO podcast to create a space for people to come as they are, ask honest questions, give their opinions, and have thoughtful conversations about life.”
Following the initial launch, Michelle Obama will appear at the liberal-friendly SXSW festival in Austin on March 13 for a special live recording session.
Furthermore, the podcast’s guest lineup includes Dr. Orna Guralnik, Keke Palmer, Jonathan Haidt, Seth and Lauren Rogen, Glennon Doyle, and Abby Wambach – individuals with strong ties to Democrat-friendly Hollywood and academic establishments.
This latest media venture joins the Obamas’ extensive roster of productions, including “The Michelle Obama Podcast,” “Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast,” “Renegades: Born in the USA,” “The Wonder of Stevie,” and “Your Mama’s Kitchen.”
The couple’s Netflix deal provides them additional platforms to shape cultural conversations outside the traditional political arena.
Ultimately, the Obamas’ expanded media presence serves as a powerful reminder of their continued influence over American culture and politics, even as they operate outside the constraints of elected office.
