The attackers wielded both a rifle and a knife, brutally targeting innocent civilians.

The brazen act of terror unfolded amidst a backdrop of escalating tensions in the region.

The assailants, clad in black, emerged from a train near the Jerusalem Boulevard light-rail stop and began their gruesome attack.

The violence continued onto the platform and surrounding street. In total, six people lost their lives, and ten others were injured, with five in serious condition.

Security footage captured the dire moments as the attackers emerged from a rail carriage and unleashed their mayhem.

Social media is now flooded with videos showing the tragic scenes, including bodies strewn on the street.

The perpetrators were eventually “neutralized” by the public, who acted swiftly to end the carnage, Haaretz reports.

One eyewitness stated, “I saw a terrorist shoot a girl who was on the floor and another girl, then I saw the terrorist shoot a man on a bicycle who fell to the floor.”

The attackers were identified as Muhammad Khalef Saher Rajab and Hassan Muhammad Hassan Tamimi from Hebron. Neither had permits to be in Israel.

Police and IDF forces searched extensively, ruling out additional assailants.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for the deportation of the terrorists’ family members and the demolition of their homes.

He demanded swift and strong actions, stating that the terrorists’ families should be dealt with harshly.

As the initial attack unfolded, an Iranian missile strike targeted Israeli territory, further heightening the sense of chaos and insecurity.

Police and civilians in Jaffa took cover as missiles and air defense rockets flew overhead.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has suggested shutting down and demolishing the mosque if it is linked to the attack, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards terror-linked structures.

Israel Police Commissioner Daniel Levy stated that there was no prior intelligence of the attack, prompting questions about potential security lapses.

This brutal assault comes at a time when Israel is already grappling with multiple security challenges.

As the investigation continues, the government is likely to impose stricter security measures to prevent future tragedies.
