(TheProudRepublic.com) – A shocking incident left a community puzzled as a man in East Memphis exercised his right to self-defense when confronted with a woman who he believed was a potential intruder.
The incident occurred early in the morning at Crossover Lane in East Memphis when most citizens were asleep and vulnerable.
The male homeowner woke up to suspicious noises and found himself in a situation that many Americans fear: a potential home invasion.
Demonstrating responsible gun ownership, the homeowner armed himself with a Glock 43X. He took decisive action to protect his home when he realized the person at the door was not the female occupant as expected.
Before discharging his firearm, the homeowner reportedly issued a verbal warning, shouting, “Stop before I shoot.”
The intruder, later discovered to be a disoriented woman possibly under the influence of substances, received a non-critical gunshot wound to her left thigh.
Ironically, when police arrived and questioned the woman, she denied being shot, further indicating her altered state of mind.
“Are you shot?” Officers asked the woman. She replied, “No, I’m not shot.”
While both occupants were detained for further investigation, this incident serves as a stark reminder of why the right to bear arms is crucial for American citizens.
In a world where threats can appear at any moment, even in the safety of one’s home, the Second Amendment remains a vital safeguard of our liberties and security.
