Former President Donald Trump received a warm welcome when he made an appearance at a South Carolina restaurant on Saturday (January 28).
The footage of Trump getting a warm reception at Zesto’s in Columbia, South Carolina, was shared by Margo Martin, a member of Trump’s communication team. In the video, Trump was at the burger chain flanked by his team. Trump is seen meeting with an employee of Zesto’s, who appears emotional because of the encounter and starts to pray for the former President.
Martin captures the tweet sharing the video, “the real [Trump] the media won’t show you,” tagging Trump’s recently reinstated Twitter account.
The 15-second clip has since garnered 4 million views, also being shared by Ron Filipkowski, a former federal prosecutor known for his constant criticism of Trump.
Filipkowski captioned the clip, “Praise the Lord for Donald Trump and fast food!” a seemingly disparaging indictment of both.
The replies to Filipkowski’s tweet are similarly disparaging, with some reiterating past criticism of Trump and expressing skepticism at his claims of being Christian. Others also brought up the former President’s past accusations of sexual misconduct and marital indiscretions.
Trump kickstarted his campaign on Saturday (January 28)with trips to New Hampshire and South Carolina by announcing his leadership team to an intimate crowd in each state.
So far, Trump is the only candidate to announce his 2024 Presidential bid. Pundits have blamed his presence and political influence in the GOP for the party’s poor performance in the midterm election.
