Marking the largest defense cooperation agreement in the U.S., President Trump achieved a milestone in foreign relations with a historic $142 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia.
See the tweet below.
The monumental pact, signed during Trump’s diplomatic visit to Riyadh, aims to strengthen America’s strategic partnership with the oil-rich kingdom while boosting American defense industry jobs.
This deal delivers on Trump’s promise to put America first through transactional foreign policy that benefits U.S. economic interests.
The massive arms package encompasses extensive defense sectors, including air and missile defense systems, naval vessels, transport aircraft, and advanced communication technologies.
In addition to military equipment, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pledged to invest a staggering $600 billion in the United States across AI, energy, and aviation sectors.
Lockheed Martin stands to benefit significantly from the agreement, with expected sales of C-130 transport aircraft, missiles, and radar systems.
The deal comes after years of strained relations between the two nations during the previous administration, which prioritized human rights concerns over strategic partnerships with key Middle East allies.
Moreover, the White House fact sheet described the agreement as “a clear demonstration of our commitment to strengthening our partnership” with Saudi Arabia.
This agreement effectively surpasses previous proposals made during Trump’s first administration.
It included potential sales worth $110 billion but had faced significant obstacles from congressional Democrats following the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
While discussions have taken place regarding Saudi Arabia’s interest in acquiring F-35 advanced fighter jets, the White House fact sheet did not specifically mention these aircraft.
Israel has operated F-35s for nine years, and any potential sale to Saudi Arabia would require careful consideration to maintain Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region.
Trump’s Middle East tour also included significant developments with Syria.
“I will be ordering the cessation of sanctions against Syria in order to give them a chance at greatness,” Trump announced.
Likewise, the President plans to meet with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, marking the first meeting between American and Syrian leaders since 2000.
Meanwhile, Syrian leader al-Sharaa reportedly offered access to Syrian oil, reconstruction contracts, and even a Trump Tower in Damascus in exchange for lifting crippling U.S. sanctions.
Trump’s willingness to engage with previously isolated nations demonstrates his commitment to advancing American interests through deal-making rather than ideological posturing.
The President’s diplomatic tour featured prominent business figures, including Elon Musk and Sam Altman, underscoring the administration’s focus on economic opportunities.
Qatar’s proposed gift of a luxury Boeing 747-8 to Trump has predictably drawn criticism from congressional Democrats, though Trump defended the potential gift as a temporary replacement for Air Force One.
Trump acknowledged that Saudi diplomatic recognition of Israel would require additional time due to ongoing conflicts in Gaza.
At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has vowed to continue military operations against Hamas, rejecting temporary ceasefire proposals.
He declared, “In the coming days, we will enter with full force to complete the operation to defeat Hamas.”
This historic arms deal proves Trump’s commitment to rebuilding America’s global standing through strength, pragmatism, and economic prosperity.
By prioritizing strategic partnerships with Middle Eastern allies while creating American jobs, the administration continues to advance an America First foreign policy that produces tangible benefits for the American people.
