Kari Scores Big Endorsement

(TheProudRepublic.com) – With the mission of getting back the Senate this 2024 The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) focused on getting GOP senators elected threw its support behind Kari Lake for the Senate race in Arizona.

They need to win at least two more seats to do that. Sen. Steve Daines, who leads the NRSC praised Lake as one of the top candidates nationwide.

“Kari is building an effective campaign operation that has what it takes to flip Arizona’s Senate seat in November. I’m proud to endorse Kari Lake for United States Senate,” Daines stated.

Lake, known for her strong anti-establishment stance in the Republican Party, was thankful for the NRSC’s support.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Chairman Daines and the NRSC,” Lake told POLITICO. “We are uniting Republicans in Arizona and have a clear path to victory, The Senate Majority runs through Arizona.”

Lake ran for Arizona governor in 2022 but lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs by about 17,000 votes. She challenged the election results several times, claiming issues in Maricopa County affected the outcome, but didn’t succeed in her appeals.

In 2022, Republicans also couldn’t win the Senate seat from Democrat Mark Kelly. Now, Lake, with former President Trump’s backing, is aiming for the seat held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who switched from being a Democrat to an independent. Lake is up against other Republicans, including Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, while Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is likely to be the Democratic contender.

The endorsement comes amid controversy within the Arizona GOP. Lake leaked audio suggesting Arizona Republican Party chairman Jeff DeWit tried to bribe her to quit her Senate run. DeWit called the recording “deceptive” and “selectively edited,” a move he said Lake made to gain leverage over the state party. After the leak, DeWit stepped down as chair. Lake’s campaign denied any wrongdoing in the matter.
