(TheProudRepublic.com) – Kamala Harris is no longer shying away from revealing her radical leftist agenda, as she has disclosed a plan that would take the nation far to the left if she wins the 2024 election and becomes president.
The Democrat presidential nominee has publicly advocated for ending the filibuster concerning abortion rights—a stance with significant implications for the political landscape in the United States.
Harris made this statement during a segment on Wisconsin Public Radio, pushing to solidify abortion rights into law and to overturn state laws that restrict it.
“I think we should eliminate the filibuster for Roe,” Harris remarked, cited by Breitbart News.
“To actually put back in law the protections for reproductive freedom and for the ability of every person and every woman to make decisions about their own body and not have their government tell them what to do,” she added.
Harris’s advocacy for terminating the filibuster marks a critical point in her commitment to make abortion rights federal if she wins the upcoming election.
She has consistently voiced her intention to reinstate Roe v. Wade, overturned by the Supreme Court in 2022, and has positioned abortion as a central issue of her campaign.
Harris has consistently avoided specifying any abortion restrictions she might support and has inaccurately claimed that abortions later in pregnancy do not occur.
Previously, Harris has supported ending the filibuster for different issues. During her 2020 presidential campaign, she supported removing the filibuster to pass the Green New Deal, which she described as a transformative, far-left agenda.
Steve Daines, Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), expressed concerns in a July interview about what he views as the Democrats’ extreme strategies to reshape American governance, including ending the filibuster to facilitate their agenda.
Reducing the Senate’s required votes from 60 to just 51 through the elimination of the filibuster would allow Democrats to rapidly advance their legislative priorities, Daines cautioned.
He outlined potential Democratic actions such as expanding the Supreme Court, incorporating Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico as states to add four Democratic senators, and federally managing all election processes.
“The consequences of losing right now are profound because, if we don’t take back the majority and the Democrats are in charge, they will blow up the filibuster,” Daines explained.
“That means D.C. and Puerto Rico are now states. That means four Democrat senators in perpetuity. They will also move the Supreme Court from nine to 13 Justices. They will pack the court. And last, they will pass one of their favorite bills — the left — and that’s the federal takeover of all the elections,” he emphasized.
