Kamala Goes Hard-Left

KAMALA HARRIS

(TheProudRepublic.com) – In a move intended to please her party’s extremists and attempt to attract Midwestern voters needed for a November victory, Kamala Harris chose hard-left Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 presidential campaign.

“I am proud to announce that I’ve asked @Tim_Walz to be my running mate,” Harris tweeted, linking to a donation page for the Harris-Walz campaign.

“As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his,” she added. “It’s great to have him on the team.”

The announcement came ahead of Harris’s campaign rally in Philadelphia, which is expected to be the largest of her campaign so far.

Moreover, Walz and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro were the final contenders for the vice presidential spot after Senator Mark Kelly, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear dropped out.”

Walz, a military veteran and former teacher, began his political career in 2006 with a narrow win over a Republican incumbent in a congressional race. He was re-elected five times and became known as a reliable liberal Democrat.

In 2018, Walz won the Minnesota gubernatorial election and was re-elected in 2022, despite facing criticism for his handling of the race riots following George Floyd’s death.

Furthermore, Republicans are likely to highlight Walz’s progressive record and controversies, including his handling of the 2020 riots and fraud scandals in Minnesota.

They will also note his failure to stop widespread looting and damage during the riots, including the destruction of a police precinct.

“It’s no surprise that San Francisco Liberal Kamala Harris wants West Coast wannabe Tim Walz as her running-mate – Walz has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State,” said Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

By choosing Walz over Shapiro, Harris hopes to maintain support from the progressive wing of the Democrat Party while easing away from the more radical positions she took during her earlier presidential bid.

Additionally, Walz has also shown sympathy towards left-wing anti-Israel protests that have arisen in the wake of Hamas’s attacks on October 7th, which resulted in the deaths of 1,200 civilians and 250 hostages.
