(TheProudRepublic.com) – It’s been 23 days since Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her as the Democrat presidential candidate, and Kamala Harris is facing a huge backlash for refusing to hold press conferences.
While Harris hit the ground running with her campaign, she has been criticized for not answering press questions and focusing mainly on rallying her supporters.
Biden ended his re-election bid on July 21 and quickly endorsed Harris as his successor. She secured enough delegates to become the nominee and immediately launched a full-scale campaign with Biden’s team.
On August 6, Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz her running mate. The next day, they appeared together for the first time in Pennsylvania.
Since late July, the current Democrat nominee has attended six campaign rallies in states like Georgia, Texas, Nevada, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.
Despite her busy schedule, one glaring absence from her calendar has been press conferences, as she has yet to hold a formal press conference or interview with the media.
She has also faced criticism for repeating the same lines at her public appearances.
At the Reading Area Community College, she spoke about progress and vision, saying, “The point about progress is to have the ability to have a vision and a belief in some faith in what can be unburdened by what has been.”
Harris frequently asks her rally crowds, “Are we ready to fight for it?!” followed by “When we fight! We win!” This rhetoric has become a staple of her speeches in battleground states like Wisconsin and Michigan.
Furthermore, some on social media have slammed Harris for seeming “inauthentic” and “rehearsed.” However, repeated speeches are a common part of political campaigns.
While Trump often goes off-script, Harris tends to stick to her prepared remarks, as during a brief stop in Detroit, she answered a few questions from reporters, discussing her debate with Trump and her openness to more debates.
When asked why Trump might be avoiding debates, she replied, “I am beyond trying to speculate on what he thinks.”
Fox News commentators have also criticized Harris for dodging the press. Anchor Anita Vogel called it “insulting” and said Harris needs to answer press questions.
