Hunter, James Biden Get Bad News

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Scandalous suspicions involving the Bidens keep popping up as now the GOP chairmen of three influential House committees have submitted criminal referrals to the Justice Department, alleging that Hunter Biden and James Biden lied during congressional depositions to hide President Biden’s involvement in their business activities.

The referrals, addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland and special counsel David Weiss, who is currently prosecuting Hunter Biden for unrelated gun and tax crimes, assert that the president’s son and brother provided false testimony in February’s confidential depositions.

Specifically, the accusation is that Hunter Biden committed perjury, The Washington Times points out in a report.

These committees are managing an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, accusing him of exploiting his previous role as Vice President to benefit financially from international transactions that reportedly earned his family and associates at least $35 million, including $8 million in loans.

“Hunter Biden and James Biden provided false testimony to the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee in what appears to be a conscious, calculated effort to insulate Joe Biden from the duly authorized impeachment inquiry,” the Republican legislators expressed in their communication to Garland and Weiss.

The signatories of the letter include Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, all Republicans who are spearheading the impeachment investigation.

They urged the Justice Department to investigate whether Hunter Biden’s actions during the congressional inquiry violated the terms of his federal supervised release by giving false testimony and committing perjury.

Currently, Hunter Biden is facing trial in Delaware on three felony gun charges and is expected to face additional felony tax fraud charges soon.

Despite these allegations, it is unlikely that the Justice Department will pursue charges against any Biden family member, as President Biden has consistently denied any involvement in his family’s business dealings, The Times comments.

This set of criminal referrals could represent a significant move by Republican lawmakers following a lengthy impeachment investigation, it notes further.

Given the Republicans’ narrow majority and the proximity of upcoming elections, it appears improbable that they will secure sufficient votes to impeach President Biden on corruption charges.

Democrats contend that the Republicans have not substantiated claims of President Biden’s involvement, noting that the investigation revealed his meetings and communications with his son’s business associates and the receipt of loan repayments from his brother, facilitated by his influential position.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the senior Democrat on the Oversight and Accountability Committee, described the criminal referral as a “last-ditch effort” to divert attention from a faltering impeachment probe.

In their letter, the lawmakers further alleged that Hunter Biden misrepresented his role in Rosemont Seneca Bohai, a shell company he established with associate Devon Archer.

In his testimony on February 28, Hunter Biden denied any affiliation with or control over the company’s bank accounts, despite the company receiving millions from foreign entities, including a notable $3.5 million wire from a Russian oligarch who had met with Vice President Biden.

The letter also highlighted IRS whistleblower documents indicating Hunter Biden identified himself as the “duly elected, qualified and acting Secretary of Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC” and as the “beneficial owner” of a bank account under the company’s name.

Additionally, Hunter Biden is accused of giving a “completely fictitious account” in his testimony about a threatening text message sent in July 2017, which involved his father.

The text demanded a $10 million payment from Chinese business partner Henry Zhao, with Hunter claiming his father was present.
