On Tuesday (April 18), former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trolled Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with a Disney family photo, saying she knows whose “side” she is on.
Clinton released the image as DeSantis’ ongoing feud with Disney escalated when the Florida Governor said Monday (April 17) that the state could consider building a prison or another park near land owned by the company.
The former first lady tweeted a photo of herself with former President Bill Clinton and their daughter Chelsea Clinton standing beside Disney’s Donald Duck.
Clinton captioned the post, “As Republicans declare war on Disney, I know whose side I’m on…”
The conflict between DeSantis and Disney began when the company protested against the Florida Governor’s plans for the rights of parents in education, a proposal nicknamed “Don’t Say Gay.”
The bill limits the teaching of gender identity and sexuality in public schools to ensure it is age appropriate.
DeSantis signed another law after Criticism, dissolving the private government that controlled Walt Disney World and its land.
Clinton is not the first to publicly criticize the controversy.
Former President Donald Trump and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie have both criticized the Florida governor for his actions against the company.
Disney has “absolutely destroyed” DeSantis, Trump Declares on Truth Social earlier this week.
Trump described the destruction stemmed from DeSantis’ original PR plan, which he noted had failed, adding the Florida Governor was back with a new plan to “save face.”
However, Christie questioned whether the governor was even a conservative based on his actions.
Christie claimed that conservatives stay out of business and that DeSantis interfering with business to punish them mimicked the actions of liberals.
