(TheProudRepublic.com) – In a disgraceful declaration for a Republican seemingly coming from yet another RINO attacking Donald Trump, a former GOP US Representative has endorsed Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, while claiming that Trump “would endanger US citizens” if he wins the 2024 election.

Former US Representative Denver Riggleman (R-VA) recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, The Hill reports.
Riggleman, whose political alignment diverges significantly from his party’s leader, issued a warning about the potential consequences of Donald Trump returning to presidential power: “would endanger U.S. citizens — and create global chaos.”
The Harris campaign publicized Riggleman’s endorsement as part of a larger announcement marking the launch of the “Republicans for Harris” initiative.
This movement aims to rally support from Republicans supposedly disillusioned with Trump’s leadership style and policy directions.
“I’m on here. Yep,” Riggleman confirmed his participation via a post on the social media platform X, sharing the press release about “Republicans for Harris.”
Riggleman has had a complex relationship with Trump, the report notes. Although he received Trump’s endorsement in two prior electoral campaigns, he distanced himself from the former president following the violent events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
“I’ve seen the data from J6. Trump & his minions are dangerous. The same folks who pushed J6 push Project 2025,” he said indicating a direct correlation between Trump’s proponents and a future marked by instability and danger.
He emphasized, “A 2nd Trump term would endanger US citizens — and create global chaos.”
Adding to his comments, Riggleman underscored the importance of rational leadership and accountability.
“Sanity should be the baseline. Criminals should be discounted,” and directed followers to the official “Republicans for Harris” account on X.
The initiative has garnered the support of over two dozen notable Republicans, including former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and various other Republican legislators and governors.
Notably, other former Trump administration officials like Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary during the Trump era, and Olivia Troye, who served as a national security adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence, have also endorsed Harris.
Other former Republican Representatives such as Christopher Shays (Connecticut), Joe Walsh (Illinois), Susan Molinari (New York), and Adam Kinzinger (Illinois) were acknowledged as part of the Harris endorsement roster.
