FBI Director Gets Bad News

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Stepping up the fight against the deep state and political coverups favoring the left, the GOP head of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, has threatened to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt as the Bureau keeps refusing to surrender Hunter Biden’s laptop communications.

Jordan (R-OH) is increasing pressure on Wray as the former informed the latter in a letter that the Judiciary Committee might hold him in contempt of Congress.

This is in order to force the release of internal FBI communications and identify key personnel involved in discussions with social media firms before the 2020 election.

This correspondence, exclusively accessed by National Review, references the testimony of Laura Dehmlow, the ex-section chief of the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF).

Last year, Dehmlow shared insights with the Judiciary Committee about the FITF’s interactions with social media entities before the 2020 presidential election.

She revealed the agency’s multiple warnings to Big Tech regarding foreign interference in the election through over 30 meetings.

Yet, she withheld specific details about these interactions under the instruction of her FBI superiors. This led Jordan to issue a subpoena for this information.

The follow-up letter on Monday came as a response to the FBI’s failure to comply with the subpoena.

“During her transcribed interview, Ms. Dehmlow revealed that the same FBI personnel who were warning social media companies about a potential Russian ‘hack and leak’ operation in the lead-up to the 2020 election knew that the laptop belonging to Hunter Biden was not Russian disinformation,” Jordan’s letter disclosed.

“After the New York Post published a story based on the contents of the laptop about Biden family influence peddling, the FBI decided to refuse to answer direct questions from social media companies about the laptop’s authenticity,” it continued.

Gary Shapley, an IRS whistleblower and agent with extensive experience in the Hunter Biden tax case, testified before the House Ways and Means Committee last year, affirming the FBI’s verification of Hunter Biden’s laptop’s contents in November 2019.

A similar confirmation of the laptop’s authenticity was provided by Special Counsel David Weiss and his prosecutorial team in recent court documents related to Hunter Biden’s federal gun case.

“In August 2019, IRS and FBI investigators obtained a search warrant for tax violations for the defendant’s Apple iCloud account,” federal prosecutors affirmed.

They also mentioned the later acquisition and search of Hunter Biden’s Apple MacBook Pro, which was left at a computer store.

The New York Post’s initial report on the Hunter Biden laptop was published on October 14th, 2020, coinciding with a pre-planned FITF meeting with Twitter.

At this meeting, as Dehmlow testified, an FBI criminal investigation analyst acknowledged the laptop’s authenticity until interrupted by an FBI lawyer, leading to the FBI’s refusal to further discuss the laptop’s authenticity.

Dehmlow’s testimony revealed that while FBI FITF personnel knew of the laptop’s authenticity, she was not allowed to discuss internal deliberations further.

Facebook and Twitter suppressed the New York Post’s reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop before the 2020 presidential election, benefiting then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The Judiciary Committee continues to seek the identities of the FBI personnel mentioned by Dehmlow and the FITF communications.

Despite a subpoena in August demanding this information, the FBI has not fully complied, leading to Jordan’s letter.

The letter concludes with a deadline for the FBI to better comply with the subpoena by March 25th, warning that the Judiciary Committee will consider “all available enforcement mechanisms” should the FBI fail to meet this demand.
