Here’s what happened…
During a recent interview with CBS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci fired back at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) who called for Fauci to be prosecuted over his failure to manage the coronavirus pandemic.
Fauci attacked Cruz by claiming that it was laughable for him to be prosecuted after what happened at the January 6 Capitol riot. In the past, Senator Cruz also called on the DOJ to investigate Dr. Fauci over lies he believes he has told Congress.
In transcript provided by Breitbart, Fauci stated, “I dealt with it by focusing on what my job is from the time that I went into medicine to right now, where I am at my age, my job has been totally focused on doing what I can with the talents and the influence I had to make scientific advances to protect the health of the American public. So anybody who spins lies and threatens and all that theater that goes on with some of the investigations and the congressional committees and the Rand Paul’s and all that other nonsense, that’s noise, that’s noise. I know what my job is.”
A CBS reporter then asked Fauci about Sen. Cruz who recently told Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute him.
Fauci called the demand by Cruz laughable and then said, “I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6, senator?”
Fauci was then asked if he was being made into a scapegoat. Fauci responded by saying of course.
