Famed star of ‘NYPD Blue,’ ‘Army Wives,’ and ‘All My Children’ Kim Delaney was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after a domestic dispute with her husband turned violent.

The Hollywood elite once again demonstrates that different rules apply to celebrities versus everyday Americans.
While regular citizens face strict gun control laws in California, Delaney allegedly threatened her spouse with a weapon during their heated argument.
Deputies from the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately mid-morning over the weekend at a residence on the 14000 block of Marquesas Way.
The dispute between 63-year-old Delaney and her husband, James Morgan, reportedly escalated from a verbal argument into a physical altercation.
“Subsequent to an investigation by deputies, Mrs. Kim Delaney was arrested for an assault with a deadly weapon and Mr. James Morgan was arrested for battery,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in their official report.
Morgan was charged with spousal battery and released on a $20,000 bond, while Delaney’s release status remained unclear as of Monday morning.
Both are scheduled to appear in court at the LAX Courthouse in the coming days, where the full details of the incident will likely be revealed.
Yet, this is not the first sign of trouble in the relationship. Just five months after their October 2022 marriage, the actress filed for divorce, citing domestic violence.
Delaney wrote in previous court documents:
“Whenever James gets mad, which is often he will shout loudly, push me, hit me, pull my hair. Neighbors have heard the noise & intervened often in the past year. The Sheriff came in March 2022 and many times in 2023.”
She sought a temporary restraining order against Morgan, alleging past abuse and threats.
While the restraining order was issued in April 2023, it was never formalized because Delaney failed to appear in court for the follow-up hearing.
The actress’s troubled personal history extends beyond her current marriage. She has struggled with alcohol-related issues, including a past DUI and multiple stints in rehabilitation.
In 2002, she was ordered to complete a drunk-driving program after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and videos of her slurring words during public appearances have circulated online for years.
The Emmy winner is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on the ABC police drama “NYPD Blue,” for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1997 after three nominations.
She has also appeared in television shows, including “Army Wives,” “All My Children,” and “General Hospital.”
Observers do not miss the irony that an actress from a show about law enforcement now finds herself on the wrong side of the law.
This case underscores the ongoing issues of domestic violence and substance abuse that plague Hollywood, even as many celebrities continue to lecture everyday Americans about morality and social issues.
The arrests came nearly six months after the couple’s second wedding anniversary, casting a shadow over what should have been a celebratory time in their relationship.
