(TheProudRepublic.com) – Music icon and flamboyant performer Elton John now faces a new health challenge that threatens his career and legacy as he has lost sight in his right eye due to a severe infection.
The infection, which John contracted while vacationing in the South of France, has left him unable to see lyrics or watch anything. This sudden disability has effectively halted his ability to work on new music.
Despite his vision issues, John collaborated with left-leaning artist Brandi Carlile on a new song, “Never Too Late,” for a documentary about his life.
This project, set to be released on the liberal-lamestream platform Disney+, covers his 50-year career and will be available on December 13.
The documentary, directed by R.J. Cutler and John’s husband, David Furnish, is a last-ditch effort to cement John’s legacy in the face of his declining health.
Moreover, it is worth noting that John’s Broadway show “Tammy Faye,” based on the life of the controversial televangelist, is closing shortly after opening due to poor reviews.
“It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. My left eye is not the greatest,” the singer said.
John’s health issues extend beyond his recent eye infection. Over the years, he has undergone numerous surgeries, including organ removals, knee and hip replacements, and even a pacemaker implant.
While John expressed gratitude for his medical team and family support during his recovery, it is clear that his days of influencing public opinion through his music and performances may be numbered.
“I don’t think it’s a conversation you want to have with your children. I don’t want to plant that seed in their mind. Elton’s been through a lot, but he’s also as strong as an ox,” his husband David Furnish stated.
Even as he copes with this challenge, Elton John’s resilience and determination to overcome obstacles inspire many. He continues to shine brightly as an icon of courage and adaptability in the face of adversity.
