On Wednesday (January 18), during a press conference, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took aim at President Joe Biden over the latter’s handling of classified documents.

The Florida Governor, considered by some as a likely rival to Biden in the 2024 Presidential election, repeated the comments many in the Republican party made about the Biden classified document discovery revealing blatant hypocrisy between how Democrats are treated compared to conservatives.

Taking issue with how flippant Democrats have been about the discovery of classified Obama-era documents stored by Biden in unauthorized locations, DeSantis asserted, “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

His comments reference how Democrats were up in arms with the discovery of hundreds of classified documents found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. But have remained quiet since the revelation Biden wasn’t only storing classified documents in an office but also in the garage of his Wilmington, Del. home.

“You can’t have two different sets of rules based on your political party,” the Florida Governor declared, prompting applause from the audience.

DeSantis also chastised Biden for remarks he made during a “60 Minutes” interview in which he discussed the FBI search and seizure of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence that uncovered classified material.

Biden was quick to criticize Trump for keeping classified documents in unauthorized locations, a violation of the Presidential Records Act.

But DeSantis noted that while Biden was making these disparaging comments, he “had [classified documents] stashed behind his Corvette at his house.”

The Florida Governor also pointed out that Hunter Biden could have had access to some of the documents, given the location of some of the documents, “which is definitely a security risk in my book.”
