(TheProudRepublic.com) – Exposing the deadly consequences of America’s broken immigration system, a twice-deported illegal alien has been charged with the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend in Utah.

24-year-old Nestor Oved Rocha-Aguayo stands accused of killing Talia Benward in a shocking crime that has left the community reeling and demanding answers.

Rocha-Aguayo, who had been deported on Christmas Eve, 2024, managed to re-enter the United States illegally just days later.

On New Year, he contacted Benward, asking her to pick him up at a Maverik gas station in West Jordan, Utah. Little did she know this act of kindness would lead to her untimely death.

Surveillance footage captured the couple’s initial meeting, which appeared normal at first. However, court documents revealed that their interaction quickly turned hostile.

According to the police report, “Two began pointing at each other, they rolled up their windows and it appeared as if they were arguing.”

Phone data showed the couple traveled to a remote area in Tooele County, where they remained for approximately 28 minutes.

It was there that authorities believed the heinous crime took place. Benward’s body was later discovered partially clothed, bearing signs of significant trauma.

Unified Police detectives traveled to the Tooele County area where the phones were last recorded together and found a burn pit containing a partially burned floor mat and rocks stained with blood, the affidavit says.

“Once uncovered, the substantial trauma to Talia’s face and neck and other portions of her body were observed. Talia had scratches and bruises throughout the top portion of her arms and chest, which appeared to be defensive wounds,” the report read.

It continued, “Talia had marks indicating she had been dragged and other injuries that appeared to have occurred after she was already deceased. Talia was not fully clothed, and was missing her pants and shoes.”

The grim discovery paints a horrifying picture of Benward’s final moments and the brutality of her attacker.

The illegal alien now faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, evidence tampering, and abuse or desecration of a dead body.

This tragedy highlights the urgent need for stronger border security and immigration enforcement.

Rocha-Aguayo’s criminal history in the United States dates back to September 2016, when he first entered the country illegally near Calexico, California.

Since then, he has been deported twice and convicted of various crimes, including burglary, assault, and drug possession with intent to distribute.

The fact that Rocha-Aguayo was able to re-enter the country so quickly after his most recent deportation raises serious questions about the effectiveness of our current border policies.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.

Meanwhile, the criminal is being held without bail, awaiting trial for his alleged crimes.
