Carville: It’s THIS Close

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Democrat strategist James Carville noted that at this stage in the campaigns, there is a “better chance” Kamala Harris wins the upcoming election by five points than there is of former President Donald Trump squeaking out a narrow victory.

In an MSNBC’s “The Beat” interview, Carville pointed out, “We’re looking at a different world today than we did 24 days ago. That’s pretty clear. They’re still trying to find their sea legs out there.”

He added, “When you get down to the fact that the Speaker of the House, who’s from Benton, Louisiana, has to tell the other House Republicans to calm the racial stuff down, you know there’s trouble out there.”

While Carville expressed optimism regarding Harris’s campaign, he has cautioned that she will be “slaughtered” by attacks and urged Democrats to “be ready.”

He also said last month that the “excitement” around Harris must be tempered with “realism.”

Though he admitted, he hates to make predictions, Carville did not hold back, saying, “There’s a better chance that Harris wins by five than Trump wins by one and a half.”

Moreover, he clarified that such a prediction comes with a caveat. He said he was not saying Kamala was going to win by five or Trump was going to win by one and a half, but he thought that was the range they are in right now.

Carville wrapped up his remarks by reiterating his reluctance to predict outcomes.

“I detest to make election predictions,” he stated.

He continued, “I think there is still a tough, hard part, but I could see him winning by a little bit. But if somebody’s going to win this by more than a little bit, it will be the Democrats. I’m just saying. I’m not predicting.”
