(TheProudRepublic.com) – The worst seems to be already happening due to the illegal alien invasion as a Palestinian migrant, previously noted on a terror watchlist for allegedly using “explosives/firearms,” has been apprehended at the southern US border.
Omar Shehada, aged 35, was detained by Border Patrol agents at a checkpoint in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, as detailed in a confidential memo that The New York Post managed to obtain.
The capture of Shehada, a native of the West Bank, follows closely on the heels of the detention of three other suspected Palestinian terrorists at the California border a few weeks earlier.
Notably, one of these individuals reportedly possessed “salacious photos” on their mobile device, including one depicting a masked man brandishing an AK-47 rifle, according to sources cited in the report.
This series of arrests arrived nearly a year after Border Patrol issued an internal memo to its agents, alerting them about the potential infiltration of Palestinian terrorists.
This memo was prompted by concerns that arose after the October 7 terror attack and amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
“Individuals inspired by, or reacting to the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border,” the alert stated.
The specifics of Shehada’s affiliations with any terror organizations remain unclear; however, he is recognized on the terror watchlist for his alleged expertise with “explosives/arms,” as indicated by the Border Patrol memo.
The memo further chronicles Shehada’s journey to the US border, which began in Madrid, Spain, the previous month and included stops in Bogota, Colombia, Panama City, and San Salvador before reaching New Mexico.
Currently, Shehada is being held in custody as he awaits deportation from the United States.
Amid the Biden-Harris administration, there has been a notable surge in the number of migrants listed on the terror watchlist being intercepted at the US-Mexico border.
Between October 2016 and September 2021, border agents detained 26 suspected terrorists.
This figure increased significantly to 98 suspected terrorists between October 2021 and September 2022, escalated further to 169 in the following year, and reached 93 from October 2023 through June 2024, according to data from the agency.
