(TheProudRepublic.com) – In an aggressive measure over growing homeland safety concerns, the Federal Aviation Administration has imposed a bold ban on drone usage in several New Jersey cities, warning of potential deadly force.

The FAA has enacted a temporary ban on drones in 22 New Jersey cities until January 17, citing enhanced security concerns.
This restriction spans areas like Jersey City, Elizabeth, and Camden.
The FAA permits the use of deadly force against any drones posing an “imminent security threat.”
The directive involves law enforcement intercepting and potentially detaining pilots violating the ban.
Unauthorized drone encounters have alarmed many, leading to calls for more effective measures.
This ban follows weeks of mystery drone sightings in New Jersey and beyond, sparking worries about possible foreign involvement, The BBC reports.
President Joe Biden assured the public that the drone sightings were “nothing nefarious”.
Yet, the government’s heightened response, including the use of more drone detection technologies by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, hints at serious concerns.
While Biden and Congress members downplay the immediate threat, the FAA’s restrictions extend to under 400 feet – restricting both recreational and some commercial drones.
Exemptions exist for national defense, law enforcement, and emergency responses, ensuring not all drones are grounded.
The rationale behind the ban partly stems from reports of drone activity over military areas and critical infrastructure.
Calls have been made for state governments to gain more control over drone sightings, with New York implementing its own drone detection measures.
“The Federal Aviation Administration has temporarily banned drone operations over parts of New Jersey until mid-January and warned that the government may respond with “deadly force” against drones that pose a threat,” the FAA said, cited by Dnyuz.
Despite seemingly calm reassurances from officials like President Biden, local critics remain skeptical, fueled by increased reports of pilots being targeted with lasers – mistaken for drones.
Former NJ Governor Chris Christie and others demand serious investigations, as citizens wonder if their concerns are truly being heard amid bureaucratic passivity.
