Biden Sets Another Bad Record

(TheProudRepublic.com) – The start of the year brought a record no one wanted, and it is one more bad record brought about by Joe Biden’s immigration policies. January saw more people trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border than any other January before.

The numbers are in, and they’re high: Border Patrol faced over 176,000 migrant encounters, up from last year’s record of 157,358.

In Texas Gov. Greg Abbott didn’t just stand by. After a court said the federal government could remove razor wire he took over a city park by the border and laid down even more wire.

There’s action in the House of Representatives, too. They just voted again on whether to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. And this time they succeeded with only a few votes to spare.

Troy A. Miller from CBP weighed in, saying, “As a result of seasonal trends, as well as enhanced enforcement efforts by the men and women of CBP and our international partners, southwest border encounters between ports of entry dropped by 50% in January. We continue to experience serious challenges along our border which surpass the capacity of the immigration system.”

Miller also highlighted their battle against drugs, noting, “CBP remains on the frontline in preventing fentanyl and other dangerous drugs from entering our country, enforcing our nation’s laws and interdicting 34% more fentanyl and 68% more cocaine than the previous month.”

The numbers have been climbing under Biden’s watch with Border Patrol logging over 2.2 million illegal encounters in 2022 and more than 2 million in 2023. And the count for 2024 is already at 753,000.
