This is not good.

In an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research poll released on Friday (May 20), President Biden’s approval rating had sunk to 39 percent.

This latest dip underscores the challenges the President and the Democrats are facing heading into the midterms, as they’re forced to juggle numerous domestic and international problems.

The 39 percent approval rating would also be Biden’s lowest to date, a figure that has been spurred on by growing frustrations voters have regarding the economy and the direction of the country and the Democratic Party under Biden’s leadership.

The poll showed only 20 percent of participants believe the economy’s in good shape, down 10 points from 30 percent in April.

Also in April, 49 percent of Democratic voters said the country is heading in the right direction. That figure now stands at 33 percent.

However, Biden’s overall approval among Democrats has only decreased by single digits since April’s poll, with the President holding 73 percent approval in Friday’s poll.
