According to NBC News, Hunter Biden has added high-profile Washington attorney Abbe Lowell to his legal team.

Lowell, who has represented former President Bill Clinton and Jared Kushner — former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law — has been tasked with handling the Congressional probe into the younger Biden next term.

The investigation into Hunter Biden stems from the controversial content of his old laptop.
Media reports also suggest Lowell will provide the scandal-plagued middle-aged son of President Joe Biden strategic advice.

Beyond Kushner and Clinton, Lowell has also represented Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.).

One of Hunter Biden’s current attorneys, Kevin Morris, told NBC that Biden had obtained Lowell to “advise him and be part of his legal team” that will be addressing the “challenges” the younger Biden is facing.

Lowell will join other high-profile attorneys already representing Hunter Biden in a series of investigations. The team includes Chris Clark from Latham and Watkins, who has been tasked with representing Biden in a tax-related investigation conducted by Delaware’s U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The news broke after incoming House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer announced his intention to Subpoena Hunter Biden and other members of Biden’s family when he takes the reigns of the Committee in the next Congress.

In a statement about the current inquiry into Biden, Comer asserts that President Joe Biden has “lied to the American people” regarding his “involvement in his family’s business schemes.” He describes Biden’s potential to be compromised by “deals with foreign adversaries” as “a threat to national security.”
