Beloved Actor from ‘Die Hard’ Dies

(TheProudRepublic.com) – Hollywood lost another great talent as a beloved actor from Die Hard 2 passed away at the age of 82 due to diabetes complications.

Art Evans, best known for his role as Leslie Barnes in “Die Hard 2” alongside Bruce Willis, died peacefully surrounded by family.

Throughout his illustrious career, Evans appeared in over 120 roles, embodying the work ethic and dedication that made America great.

The actor’s journey began at Frank Silvera’s Theater of Being in Los Angeles. His breakthrough came with a starring role in “The Amen Corner,” which moved to Broadway in 1965 and showcased the power of faith and family values in American culture.

Moreover, Evans’ filmography includes critically acclaimed works like “A Soldier’s Story” (1984), which earned three Oscar nominations.

This film, co-starring Denzel Washington, highlighted the struggles and triumphs of African American soldiers.

“Art was not only an incredible actor but a devoted husband, friend, and source of light to everyone who knew him,” his wife stated.

She added, “His laughter, passion, and love of life will be deeply missed. While our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the legacy of joy and inspiration he leaves behind.”

Throughout his career, the late actor appeared in numerous family-oriented productions. He had roles in beloved American shows like “M*A*S*H,” “Walker Texas Ranger,” and “Everybody Hates Chris.”

Evans’ commitment to his craft extended beyond the screen. Playwright LaDarrion Williams shared a personal tribute, highlighting Evans’ dedication to theatre.

Despite facing health challenges, Evans continued to work until last year, when he had his final role in “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.”

“Art was a remarkable talent who touched many lives with his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Art’s legacy will never be forgotten,” his agents LyNea Bell and Charleen McGuire stated.
