Spencer Lindquist, a Daily Wire field reporter, was invited by Allie Beth Stuckey to examine some of the recent studies regarding transgenderism. In his recent article, Spencer points out that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had funded research on what the possible effects of cross-sex hormone treatment and puberty blockers might be on minors, despite the fact that they had previously acknowledged how these types of medical treatments and interventions could lead to sterilization.
The research was conducted at the Children’s Hospital of L.A., where the consent form given to parents and guardians clearly states that these treatments might cause sterilization. The form specifically notes that children in the early stages of puberty that are given hormones or puberty blockers may never develop eggs or sperm, meaning that they will never be able to reproduce.
Two separate studies showed that 98 percent of minors who are put on puberty blockers will eventually also do cross-sex hormone therapy. This could mean that effectively 98 percent of children who are participating in these studies could end up sterilized.
Even more shocking for Spencer was the fact that these studies on transgenderism were being funded by taxpayer dollars. In fact, a $3.26 million grant was given from the NIH for the expansion of gender-affirming care at the Boston Children’s Hospital. The grant was aimed specifically at individuals from 13 to 24 years old.
In order for these studies to be justified, they are using the statistics on transgender suicide as a way to encourage gender-affirming care.
